Max Volsky is Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer for LexStone Capital, a company which invests in commercial claims. As founder and former CEO of LawMax Legal Finance, Mr. Volsky has been instrumental in fostering the growth of the legal finance market inNorth Americafor more than a decade, having overseen more than 10,000 investments in claims. Mr. Volsky is also a co-founder and former Vice President of the industry trade organization, the American Legal Finance Association (ALFA).
Most recently, Mr. Volsky has authored Understanding Commercial Dispute Finance in the United States and the Investing in Justice: An Introduction to Legal Finance, Lawsuit Advances and Litigation Funding.
Mr. Volsky was formerly a Director of Corporate Finance at Creditanstalt Investment Bank (CAIB), a member of the BankAustria group of companies, later becoming Director at the First Mercantile Capital Group, a finance and investment company focusing on emerging markets. Mr. Volsky holds a Bachelor of Arts (Cum Laude) from New York University and a Juris Doctor degree from the Rutgers School of Law-Newark. He is a Partner at the law firm of Schmidt, Volsky & Perle LLP and is a member of the New York State Bar. His legal experience includes commercial and business law, with an emphasis on cross-border transactions and international arbitration.
